STATEMENT OF CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES The Coe explores and connects through experiencing the worlds Ind STATEMENT OF CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES The Coe explores and connects through experiencing the worlds Indigenous arts. COVID continues to challenge us. In 2021 we reopened to visitors regaining an estimate of 25 visitors at our First Friday open house event held on the first Friday of each month. Individual tours have increased from preCOVID from less than one visit per month to averaging two or more individual tours per month and one partnering/local institution visit per month. In 2021 we increased the number of artist residencies at the Coe from one or two in 2020 to as many as five or six over the entire year expanding to include a poetry residency. In 2021 we resumed inperson our HandsOn Curatorial Program working with 4 high school students from 3 different local schools resulting in their successful exhibition launch in May with approximately 75 attendees. Due to demand the exhibition was extended an extra reaching in person approximately 200 people and even more via our website. Our website and social media outreach improved growing our mailing list by about 25% STATEMENT OF CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES CONTINUED Collections Spotlight continued online via Zoom events. We held 8 events reaching directly approximately 320 people and posting the video on the Coe YouTube channel grew the audience to approximately 500. Our monthly online Eletter with articles about works in the collection The Virtual Coe the open rate remained consistent by averaging between 2328% and our email list gained 500 new addresses from approximately 2000 to 2500. We were able to successfully complete Conservation of Ourselves An Indigenous survey of James Kivetoruk Moses. Due to COVID this project was delayed by almost two years. In 2021 not only were we able to exhibition 65 works by the artist at the Coe Center which reached approx.. 150 people during a COVID lockdown but launched the program on line reaching an even larger audience in particular the artists home community in Alaska. We continue to be challenged by COVID in how we can safely bring our programs to the public.
