| Form 990, Part III, Section MISSION, Line 1 | We are a nonprofit organization comprised of Certified Doulas who are focused on improving pregnancies, births and postpartum experiences in our communities. DOULA, originated from ancient Greek, meaning a woman who serves is otherwise known as a woman caregiver providing non-medical assistance before, during and after childbirth. A Doula also assist the expectant mothers partner and family. PPFs Doulas provides one-on-one, non-judgmental in-home practical support, such as childbirth education, parenting skills, meal preparation, household organization, breastfeeding support and emotional support to ensure improved maternal and birth outcomes. Our Doulas also assist with locating members in which insurance companies are unable to reach via phone or mail. In addition, our Doulas are HIPAA Compliant and certified through reputable doula agencies and are CPR certified. Furthermore, PPF requires a 50-state criminal background clearance to be performed on all Doulas. PPFs unique program is a rare collaboration between Health Insurance Companies and Doulas. PPF was the first organization to be utilized as a Third-Party Doula Service for Managed Care Agencies in the Country. |
| Form 990, Part III, Section ACCOMPLISHMENTS, Line 4 | In January 2021, PPF celebrated Martin Luther King Day by hosting Give-Away-Day and an online raffle contest. 156 families were given clothing, toiletries, pads, infant formula, toys, books and more. 5 pregnant women won the raffle and received a car seat, stroller, breastfeeding pillow, retractable gate and pack n play. In February 2021, PPF was able to serve 55 families during Diaper and Formula Drive and 600 children during Nutritional Development Services NDS Meal distribution. Also, PPFs application for the Second Draw Paycheck Protection Program for 47,567 was approved. 100 of the funds were used towards payroll costs. In March 2021. PPF was able to serve 66 families during Diaper and Formula Drive and 500 boxes of NDS 7-day Meal Kit. PPF began experiencing problems with Keystone First Agreement. In April 2021, PPF was awarded a 25,000 Impact Grant 2021 by the Foundation for Delaware County for Harvest Food Program. This program was launched to increase food security. The funds were used to purchase boxes of fresh vegetables and fruits for the familes. Also, the closing report and evaluation for the Reaching Our Sisters Everywhere Grant ROSE was completed. In May 2021, as a Mothers Day celebration, PPF collaborated with Exquisite Diamonds to host a Community Baby Shower. We were able to help 79 families in the community with diapers, formula, baby clothes, baby gear and more. PPF distributed the first 80 boxes of fresh produce to 58 families. A family of 4 received a box of produce. Also, 500 boxes of the NDS 7-day Meal Kit were distributed. |
| Form 990, Part III, Section ACCOMPLISHMENTS, Line 4 | In June 2021, PPFstarted selling raffle tickets as fundraiser for the upcoming 20th Anniversary. Also, the Virtual Fun Run Fundraiser started to raise money for the Doula By My Side Program in order to serve more expectant mothers. Also, 160 boxes of fres produce and 400 NDS 7-day Meals kits were distributed in June. Additionally, PPF had to utilize the services of our attorney to aid in the discussion with Keystone First regarding our Agreement. In July 2021, PPF celebrated its 20th Anniversary with a week-long event. On the first day, the Harvest Food Program giveaway100 fresh produce and 200 NDS 7-day Meals kits. On the second day, the Pampering Parents Program giveaway baby essentials to 54 families. On the third day, Pal for Parents Program hosted a Class-a-thon- a whole day of classes, workshops and entertainment. On the fourth day, PPF hosted a Family Fun Day Fundraiser where families and kids enjoy a variety of games and food. On the fifth day, PPF ended the celebration with the Midsummer Nights Dream Fundraiser Gala and Silent Auction where participants learned about meternal health, enjoyed good food and danced the night away. PPF raised 18,252 from all the fundraisers. All services ended with Tufts members. In August 2021, PPF hosted the thrid Global Big Latch On event. There were 2 in-person and 15 virtual mothers attended. Also, the American Academy of Pediatrics PA AAP First Food Program and the Pennsylvania Department of Health PA DOH awarded a 5,000 Mini Grant to Pettaway Pursuit Foundation Pennsylvania Resource Organization for Lactation Consultants for Connecting the Dots for Successful Breastfeeding. |
