1 2021 Midwest Climate Philanthropy Summit: In this pivotal moment for global climate action, McKnight led a collaborate philanthropic gathering to step up our collective ambition in the Midwest. This event was developed to bring together both long-time Midwest funders as well as those interested in learning more. 70,000
2 2021 Farmer Research Network Online Gathering: Over three days, the Online Gathering focused on understanding the reality and the potential of participatory, inclusive research on agroecology reimagining resilient, agroecology-based food systems using our collective voice to advance agroecological transitions. There were simultaneous interpretation in English, Spanish and French, and the sessiones focused on people from different regions where CCRP works (West Africa, Eastern-Southern Africa and the Andes). 49,621
3 2021 West Africa Community of Practice annual convening: The overall goal of the 2021 annual West Africa CoP convening was to rethink and leverage synergies to advance the Farmer Research Network (FRN) approach and move towards Agroecological transition (AET) in a context of the COVID-19 pandemic coupled with food, people, and property insecurity. Held from April 12-15, 2021, the hybrid meeting (combining virtual and in-person interactions) engaged CCRP grantees, partners, resource teams, and students. Participants shared project updates related to different thematic cores such as agrobiodiversity, pest and disease management, soil health, nutrient cycling, agroecological systems and food systems research, and local innovation. Group work explored opportunities for synergies on the ground. In scientific seminars, student received feedback on their work. Panels on farmer-to-farmer interaction and on FRN-for-AET complemented the meeting. (See supplemental information) 43,665
4 2021 Andes Community of Practice (CoP) annual convening: Participants of the 17th annual CoP meeting gathered virtually for a 2-week convening from July 6-16, 2021. This was the 2nd annual virtual CoP after the Andes team transitioned the traditionally in-person convening to be virtual in light of the Covid pandemic. The overall aim of the meeting was to generate and share knowledge among the group related to their specific work, their collaborations, and the broader system of agriculture research and development in the Andes region. 31,594
