Other	Part III, Line 28 - Public Relations - The Howard County Farm Bureau collaborated with the Howard County Economic Development and Cresco Chamber of Commerce to be one of the first organizations to support an Agriculture themed mural of Dr. Norman Borlaug. The mural is not only to honor Dr. Borlaug who saved millions of people through his work, but also is a nod to agriculture and the roots of the community.
Other	Part III, Line 29 - Ag Education - The Howard County Farm Bureau strongly supports Agricultural Education and has worked diligently to provide educational resources to our local school districts. Our mission is to improve agriculture literacy and to make students and teachers aware of the importance of agriculture to our local economy and way of life. We have been able to conduct Agriculture In The Classroom (AITC) activities in 4 area schools this past year. The Howard County Farm Bureau supports the wages of an Outreach Coordinator, whose job includes promoting agriculture through public relations and in our local schools with Agriculture in the Classroom programming.
Other	Part III, Line 30 - Policy Development - Howard County Farm Bureau met with state and national legislators to discuss issues of importance to agriculture and the community. The county supervisors and county engineer met with the Board members to discuss local issues affecting members and the community. The Howard County Farm Bureau also develops an annual survey to distribute to members seeking their input on important issues regarding agriculture and the local community. The survey was sent by email and could also be picked up at the county Farm Bureau office. The results were submitted, and policy was adopted at the local policy development meeting.
