The designation of such classes and qualifications of the members of each class shall be as follows:Regular Member: Regular membership is limited to any trade associations in local jurisdictions within California whose members, in turn, are engaged in the business of solid waste handling, including collection, removal, transport, processing, recycling and disposal, within the jurisdiction where the member trade association operates and/or conducts business. Business entities with direct contracts for solid waste handling with any public entity in California with no local trade association shall qualify for non-affiliate membership within the meaning of this subsection. In cases where no permit, license, franchise, or similar entitlement is required to operate a business of solid waste handling, collection, removal, transport, processing, recycling or disposal, within a particular political jurisdiction, the Board of Directors of the Association may admit an entity to regular non-affiliate membership upon a proper showing, in order to ensure that the Associations membership is open to any and all bona fide industry members.Associate Member: An associate member shall be any individual, company, partnership, or corporation engaged in selling products or services to regular members in this Association, and must possess all required city, county and/or state permits and licenses to conduct business within the jurisdictions where it operates. Such associate members may participate in activities of this Association as authorized by the Board of Directors.There are currently approximately sixty (60) Associate Members.
