STARTUP FUNDAMENTALS PROVIDES ENTREPRENEURS WITH TRAINING ON ESSENTIAL AND EVIDENCE-BASED STRATEGIES SUCH AS CUSTOMER VALIDATION, MARKETING, AND FINANCIAL AND BUSINESS PLANNING. -STARTUP COFFEE, OUR MONTHLY NETWORKING AND SPEAKER SERIES, WAS MOVED TO A VIRTUAL FORMAT IN 2020. WE HAD OVER 600 ATTENDEES OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR, WITH AN ADDITIONAL 10,800 VIEWS OF THE VIDEOS AFTER THE FACT. STARTUP COFFEE RETURNED IN-PERSON IN LATE 2021. -STARTUP TUCSON CONTINUED A SECOND ROUND OF REMOTE TUCSON, A PROGRAM OFFERING A PACKAGE OF PERKS, BENEFITS AND COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS TO ELIGIBLE REMOTE WORKERS WHO MOVE TO AND WORK REMOTELY FROM TUCSON, ARIZONA FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR. -WITH FUNDING FROM THE USDA FARMER'S MARKET PROMOTION PROGRAM, STARTUP TUCSON LAUNCHED FOOD FORWARD, A PROGRAM SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO HELP SUPPORT ENTREPRENEURS LAUNCHING AND GROWING FOOD BUSINESSES. IN 2021, STARTUP TUCSON RAN THE FIRST COHORT OF THE RECIPES FOR SUCCESS FOOD ACCELERATOR, AS WELL AS BUILT SEVERAL E-COMMERCE WEBSITES FOR FOOD BUSINESSES. -WITH FUNDING FROM THE EDA, STARTUP TUCSON OPENED IT'S SPRINT CHALLENGE PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM INCLUDED E-COMMERCE AND PROTOTYPING ONLINE MASTERCLASSES, PAIRINGS WITH STATEWIDE MENTORS AND USE OF THE NEWLY BUILT LAUNCH LAB THAT INCLUDES PROTOTYPING AND MEDIA SPACES AND TOOLS. -WITH FUNDING FROM THE EDA, STARTUP TUCSON ALSO LAUNCHED IT'S NEW RISING ARIZONA INVESTOR NETWORK TO SUPPORT LOCAL ENTREPRENEURS THAT WANT TO LEARN ABOUT INVESTING IN LOCAL DIVERSE FOUNDERS. -IDEAFUNDING WAS HELD VIRTUALLY AND LOCAL COMPANIES COMPETED FOR $45K IN FUNDING. THE DIGITAL EVENT WAS WELL ATTENDED AND HIGHLIGHTED A LOT OF THE LOCAL COMPANIES THAT SHOWED INNOVATION DURING THE PANDEMIC. |
