990-PF, PART VIII-A: SUMMARY OF DIRECT CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES 990-PF, PART VIII-A: SUMMARY OF DIRECT CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES Line 1, Math Readiness Initiative Evaluation: $51,932 The Math Readiness Initiative is a state-wide pilot program launched to ensure students are ready for college-level math. This initiative includes the six Nebraska community colleges working collectively with 41 high schools across the state over multiple years. The pilot program was initially approved for a three-year term and in December 2020 the program was approved for a one-year extension. The initiative includes up to $300,000 to hire an evaluator co-selected by the Foundation and grantees to measure impact on student success and help the six colleges improve program design and delivery. The evaluation of the Nebraska Math Readiness Initiative contributes to the goals of the Youth Pathways to Success area by measuring the impact of the state-wide initiative towards improving students' math readiness for post-secondary and its correlation to improved student outcomes at the post-secondary level. The program results indicate improved student outcomes and the participating community colleges wish to scale this intervention to other high schools across the state.
