| Form 990-EZ, Part I, Line 10 | CSEE, with AC Humana, a Mexican nonprofit, continues to support an ongoing project that was started in 2017 called the Huichol Temple Restoration project. The amount granted was $2,526. In addition, $11,314 was granted in support of the Kurin Metsa School of Shamanism, administered by Enrique Flores Sinuiri. The goal of the Kurin Metsa is to keep the wisdom of the Shipibo alive and active amongst the younger generation. One other program was supported: Saq' Be' which is an organization for Mayan and Indigenous spiritual studies in Guatemala. The amount granted was $1,200 for the development of a medicinal garden in Chichicastenango. |

| Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line (28-31) | CSEE, with AC Humana, a Mexican nonprofit, continues to support an ongoing project that was started in 2017 called the Huichol Temple Restoration project. This is an extremely useful project supporting the Huichol cultural survival and the shaman's education in Queaehruitea and serves as a valuable model to follow for the rest of the ceremonial centers in the rest of the Huichol Sierra. The program uses local, traditional materials to help support the restoration of Queaehruitea within a spiritually vital community of Huicholes. In 2021, with AC Humana, CSEE was able to expand the Huichol Temple Restoration Project by providing the necessary funds to complete the building of the Harianaka Xiriki (moon temple). In addition, we began Operation Guarache, a project that funded the production of traditional sandals worn by the Jicareros (both men and women). Efforts to renew the main temple, the "Tuqui", began this year with a ritual deer-hunt. Kurin Metsa School of Shamanism: Enrique Flores Sinuiri, an elder Onanya (Shaman) administers a training program called the Kurin Metsa School of Shamanism. In 2021, CSEE was able to begin the expansion of the fence enclosure around the school to fully protect the building and the gardens. The extension of the fence enclosure will help to protect the botanical medicine garden from a new road that was cut alongside their property. Additionally, CSEE began a new program that interviews the students about how their participation in the program is changing their lives and perpetuating their traditional knowledge. The student interviews have been shared broadly through our on-going newsletters. In June of 2021, CSEE held a special Solstice Ceremony for Abundance, in partnership with Enrique and the students. This ceremony, attended by over 977 people around the world, raised $5,556 in donations to support the continuation of our work. It is Enrique's goal, and the goal of the Kurin Metsa, to keep the wisdom of the Shipibo alive and active amongst the younger generation. Many of the youth favor western culture over their indigenous language, beliefs, and practices, and this project meets that concern with direct, intergenerational action within the community. The project stems from the need to restore the values, principles, traditions, and customs that, little by little, over time, are being lost from the Shipibo ethnicity. The goal of the program is to transmit Enrique's knowledge and wisdom to the younger generations with the purpose of preserving the Shipibo culture. In 2021, CSEE began a new project with Saq' Be' (pronounced Sock Bay), which is an organization for Mayan and Indigenous spiritual studies that was formed at the turn of the 21st century at the request of Mayan elders in Guatemala. Their mission is to respectfully facilitate the integration of the knowledge and wisdom of ancient lineages into the modern world while supporting those that maintain the living traditions in their homelands. These regions include the highlands of Guatemala, as well as support for traditions from the Ecuadorian Amazon, Peruvian Andes, Colombian Sierra Nevada, and various communities in the US. CSEE provided support to Saq' Be' in 2021 with a grant of $1,200 for the development of a medicinal garden in Chichicastenango. The project engaged local elders and is elevating traditional healing knowledge and wisdom. CSEE continues to support the artisans of the Shipibo and the Huichol. CSEE purchases crafts from the Huichol and Shipibo artisans directly and resells them, thus creating more revenue to put into more projects that fit our mission of supporting shamanic-based Indigenous tribes. CSEE continues to produce a monthly e-newsletter with unique content about the shamanic path to share freely with thousands of our constituents. |
