Part I, Line 2:

Before grant funding is provided to an organization, the Tioga Fund (the fund) requests and reviews organizational information from prospective grantees, including audited financial statements, tax return information, and funding proposals and budgets. The Fund also performs a due diligence check, to confirm that the organization is in good standing with the federal and/or state governments. Grant funds are provided after a grant agreement is executed by both parties that sets out the permissible and prohibited uses of funds. The Fund monitors the grant funds in a variety of ways, including requiring a narrative and financial report of activities funded by the grant. For significant grants, the Fund regularly speaks with the grantee throughout the grant period to access the grantee's performance and discuss corrective action, if necessary.
