EVEN WITH OUR RESTRICTED ABILITY TO REACH OUR PUBLIC DURING MOST OF THE PERFORMING SEASON, WE CONTINUED TO RECEIVE COMMENTS FROM AUDIENCE MEMBERS SUCH AS, "THE ALHAMBRA ORCHESTRA IS A FANTASTIC ASSET TO OUR COMMUNITY." SPOOKY SYMPHONY - OCTOBER 24, 2021, MIAMI DADE COUNTY AUDITORIUM, 4:00 PM WE BROUGHT BACK OUR POPULAR FREE ANNUAL HALLOWEEN EVENT, BUT WITH COVID PRECAUTIONS. CHILDREN AND FAMILIES WERE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE ADVANCE TICKETS IN SOCIALLY DISTANCED GROUPINGS, AND ONLY 50% OF THE AUDITORIUM WAS TICKETED. THE NUMBER OF MUSICIANS ALLOWED ON THE STAGE WAS ALSO LIMITED. AS THIS IS A JOINT PROJECT WITH GREATER MIAMI YOUTH SYMPHONY, SPONSORED BY THE CHILDREN'S TRUST, WE USED A HYBRID APPROACH: MOST OF THE GMYS ORCHESTRA WAS ALLOWED ONSTAGE, WHILE ALHAMBRA ORCHESTRA PRODUCED VIDEOS OF SOME OF THE PIECES TO BE PLAYED ON THE HUGE SCREEN BEHIND THE YOUTH ORCHESTRA. THUS, BOTH GROUPS COULD PLAY "TOGETHER." THESE VIDEOS WERE ALSO POSTED FREE ON YOUTUBE FOR THE PUBLIC TO ENJOY. THERE WERE 681 ENTHUSIASTIC ATTENDEES AT THE LIVE PERFORMANCE, AND AN ADDITIONAL 263 HAVE WATCHED THE VIDEO, TO DATE. FAMILY POPS UNDER THE STARS - NOVEMBER 26, 2021, PINECREST GARDENS, 7:30 PM. OUR STRING AND PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE, PRECEDED BY A WOODWIND TRIO, A WOODWIND QUINTET, AND A BRASS QUINTET, PLAYED LIGHT CLASSICS, MOVIE MUSIC AND HOLIDAY FAVORITES IN AN OUTDOOR ARENA FOR AN ENTHUSIASTIC AUDIENCE OF 285, INCLUDING MANY CHILDREN AND SENIORS. NOMINAL TICKET PRICES OF 10 FOR ADULTS AND 5 FOR CHILDREN WERE DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE FAMILIES TO ATTEND. ENSEMBLES VIDEO- DECEMBER 10, 2021, FREE ONLINE VIDEO. WE POSTED A COMPILATION OF WORK THAT OUR ENSEMBLES HAD BEEN DOING DURING THE FALL WHEN FULL ORCHESTRA COULD NOT MEET. STRING QUARTET PERFORMANCE FOR MIAMI CANCER CENTER - AT THE REQUEST OF MIAMI CANCER CENTER, OUR IN-HOUSE ALHAMBRA STRING QUARTET PRODUCED A 30- MINUTE VIDEO OF HOLIDAY MUSIC FOR BROADCAST THROUGHOUT THE HOSPITAL IN LATE DECEMBER. IT WAS SHOWN ON THE HOSPITAL'S INTERNAL CHANNEL TO APPROXIMATELY 110 PATIENTS AND STAFF. STRING DUO PERFORMANCE - DECEMBER 12, 2021 - A VIOLINIST AND VIOLIST PERFORMED MULTICULTURAL HOLIDAY TUNES FOR AN AUDIENCE OF 220, IN PERSON OR ON ZOOM, AT THE UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST CONGREGATION IN SOUTH MIAMI. ELECTRIC STRINGS HOLIDAY PERFORMANCE - DECEMBER 16, 2021, PINECREST GARDENS, 7:30 PM - OUR AMPLIFIED STRINGS ENSEMBLE PERFORMED A VARIETY OF JAZZY AND TRADITIONAL HOLIDAY MUSIC, FOR FAMILIES ATTENDING THE NIGHTS OF LIGHTS FESTIVAL. AN AUDIENCE OF 255 ENJOYED THE PERFORMANCE, WHICH COULD BE HEARD THROUGHOUT THE PARK. THE CONCERT WAS FREE WITH PARK ADMISSION.
