PART I, LINE 2: WE RECEIVED OVER 300 APPLICATIONS FOR THE RJ FOR BLACK LIVES GRANT. A STEERING COMMITTEE OF REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE LEADERS WAS CONVENED TO SET PARAMETERS FOR THE GRANT AND CREATE SELECTION CRITERIA, LED BY SISTERSONG. SISTERSONG STAFF AND THE STEERING COMMITTEE THEN REVIEWED APPLICATIONS IN A TWO-STAGE PROCESS AND IDENTIFIED AWARDEES BASED ON THESE SELECTION CRITERIA AND THE OVERARCHING GOAL OF THE GRANT, WHICH WAS TO STRENGTHEN THE NETWORK OF BLACK WOMEN AND TRANS PEOPLE WHO CAN CHAMPION REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE IN CONNECTION WITH OTHER SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUES. SELECTION CRITERIA ARE OUTLINED BELOW: 1. COMPLETION: INFORMATION REQUESTED ON THE PROPOSAL SUBMISSION FORM IS COMPLETE. 2. RED FLAGS: THE ORGANIZATION'S PROPOSAL DOES NOT RAISE ANY IMMEDIATE RED FLAGS OR SUGGEST THE ORGANIZATION MAY BE HARMFUL TO INDIVIDUALS IN OUR COMMUNITY. 3. COMMITMENT: THE ORGANIZATION HAS A WORKING UNDERSTANDING OF REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE. 4. ORGANIZATIONS WORKING IN THE MIDWEST C. ORGANIZATIONS WORKING IN A STATE IN A PRIORITY REGION THAT TRADITIONALLY HAS RECEIVED LESS FUNDING/ATTENTION D. ORGANIZATIONS LED BY AND/OR PRIMARILY SERVING TRANSGENDER AND GENDER NONCONFORMING PEOPLE. E. ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE PARTICULARLY IMPACTFUL WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF COVID AND/OR ADJUSTED THEIR PROGRAMMING TO REFLECT COVID.
