| Form 990, Part III, Line 4a | The foundation serves as a catalyst to encourage agencies engaged in the arena of international public health to inprove health outcomes.Specifically, it identifies prospective collaborative partners, and research opportunities and tools that will assist those organizations served by the Foundation that participate directly in medical missionary and public health projects in less-developed regions, with an emphasis on the north central mountains of Guatemala. After being hindered by the pandemic for two years, HWCs collaborators returned to a full operation in 2022. HWC continues to provide logistical support and helps to sponsor projects with its collaborators. As they emerge from the Covid pandemic, the Foundations executive director and several Guatemalan NGOs providing surgical services, above-ground stoves in remote regions, constructed substantial houses for the surviving families of a deadly mudslide, and provided financial and technical support for the construction of a much-needed standing surgery center in Santa Cruz. |
| Form 990, Part III, Line 4b | In collaboration with the Shalom Foundation, HWC sponsored fourteen Central Texas Pediatric Surgery Team volunteers to undertake its second mission to The Moore Surgery Center n Guatemala City in October 2022. Over a five-day period, 61 children were evaluatied resulting in 35 general surgeries and 23 orthopedic surgeries. Positive feedback given by the team leader, an all wanr to volunteer again in 2023. In February 2022, a collaborative effort among One World Unity Project OWUP and HWC allowed for local volunteers to install 20 cookstoves and water filters. OWUP is working directly with AAVIS/Living To Serve to oversee the construction of the free-standing surgery center. By year end, the following has been completed Ground removal, retention walls, street lighting, 90 of the water tank and total construction requirements. OWUP provides periodic updates to HWC to share with ots collaborators funding the project. HWC is actively researching companies/organizations that can provide medical equipment to help source the surgery center, and to seek out volunteers willing to participate on a medical mission. It is anticioated that the free-standing center will be completed by the end of 2023. |

The executive director explains the preparation of the return, page by page, and responds to any questions that are raised by trustees. In addition, the financial statement prepared by the foundations CPA is distributed at that meeting and discussed along with the Form 990. |

| Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 | The executive director is the only person that receives compensation from the foundation. On January 1, 2015, Brenda T. Mike was appointed by the trustees as the executive director. Pursuant to a written contract, the annual salary for Ms. Mike was established at 60,000, being two thirds of the salary earned by her predecessor. The assistant to the executive director is not deemed a key employee and volunteers without compensation.Following employment interviews and by written documentation the Trustees hereby acknowledge that i they used a process for determining the compensation of the successor executive director as to be reported in Part VII of IRS Form 990, ii they used comparable compensation for similarly qualified persons in a fundamentally comparable position at similarly situated organizations specifically the 2014 Charity CEO Compensation Study published by Charity Navigator and the Council on Foundations study of public charities published in 2014, and iii the trustees determined that the compensation to be paid to the successor executive director is reasonable and appropriate for the duties and responsibilities of that office. |
