1	Briefly describe the organization’s mission or most significant activities: Santa Maria Country Club was a K of C corporation that provided a building for family gatherings, i.e. wedding receptions, baptisms, birthdays. The 12-acre field behind the building provided athletic activities, soccer, softball, horsheshoes, and corkball. The mission was to provide an atmosphere and opportunity for the community to enhance family life. Santa Maria Country Club went out of business in 2019 and sold its building and 12 acres. The proceeds of the sale of the building and property were donated to 501(c)3 organizations to comply with our Board policies.

Briefly describe the organization’s mission: The Santa Maria Country Club was affiliated with the Santa Maria Knights of Columbus. The Santa Maria Country Club consisted of a building and 12 acre property that the community could rent for all types of family events, recreational events, and fundraising events. The Mission was to provide opportunity to the community to enhance the social welfare of all near the Club.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b	Santa Maria Country Club Officers provided an opportunity for the membership to review the 2020-2021 990 Tax return at three separate monthly meetings. The Treasurer asked the Officers and those in attendance to review all the forms filed and raise any questions or concerns about the 990 return. Any member not at the meetings could still review the return by emailing or calling the Treasurer and asking for a private showing. Once all members had a chance to review the 990, the Treasurer would then send it off to the IRS.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c	Santa Maria Country Club Officers wanted to get the membership to accept the difficult decision to sell our building and property. We mailed a hard copy of a survey with information about the sale of the property and building. Members were asked to cast a vote by mail, email, or call one of the Officers to let us know their choice. Selling the building and property was what the majority wanted. We had devised a system where any member could bring any problem to one of the Officers by phone, mail, or email.
Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 18	Santa Maria Country Club makes the announcement at every monthly meeting that anyone can request to see our paperwork for Form 1023 and our 990 to inspect those documents. Santa Maria Country Club mails out a monthly newsletter called the LOG. In this mailing, Santa Maria Country Club advises its membership about upcoming events, the chance or opportunity to review the 990 Tax Form and Form 1023. These announcements are small blurbs in each edition of the newsletter, the LOG.
Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19	Part VI Line 11b/Line 12c This is already stated on Schedule O. Santa Maria Country Club provided the opportunity for the Officers and membership to see the and review the 2020-2021 990 tax return. Announcements were sent out to members, the date of the viewing was set, and the meeting was held. The Officers made some comments and we only had a few members show up to look at the return. The motion to accept the return was announced and the return received a yes vote from all present. Conflict of interest policy is handled the same way. Members can bring conflicts to the Officers, meetings are set, discussions held, and if solutions are proposed they are put to a vote by membership.

Santa Maria Country Club sold our building and property in 2019. We moved to a local Catholic Church to have our monthly meetings. In 2021, our Knights of Columbus Chapter, Santa Maria 2619 was dissolved by the Supreme Council in Connecticut. I filed the return by paper not realizing it was supposed to be sent e-file. The tax return was returned to the Church where we held our meetings. The Church filed the return away when they got it in the mail. Someone looking through files this past March found the returned 990. They contacted me and asked me to come and pick it up. I have had the return just since March of 2023. This is why the return is coming in late.
