    We are a relatively new 501 c3 non-profit organization. We thought we had filed our first year's 990-PF in timely fashion in April of 2022. I went online found the form filed it out and mailed it. During the year we filed a change of mailing address from Chicago Illinois to Wilmette Illinois so official documents would come to me rather than the attorney who helped us set up our Foundation. A few days ago 4 21 23. the 990-PF was returned to me at the Wilmette address 1 year after I mailed it. The accompanying letters said it came back undeliverable and they eventually found our address change to Wilmette. Another letter also stated we had to file the 990-PF electronically so they were returning it even though I found the form on a government website and no such instructions were indicated. Penalties are also referred to in the letter so I am writing to ask any penalties be removed as I begin the process of trying to figure out how to file the form electronically.
