THE YWCA HAS BEEN AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE MOST CRITICAL SOCIAL MOVEMENTS FOR MORE THAN 160 YEARS - FROM WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT AND CIVIL RIGHTS TO AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND PAY EQUITY, HEALTH CARE, VIOLENCE PREVENTION, YOUTH LEADERSHIP, CHILDCARE. CURRENTLY, A NETWORK OF MORE THAN 200 YWCA ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COUNTRY PROMOTING SOLUTIONS TO ENHANCE THE LIVES OF WOMEN, GIRLS, AND FAMILIES. IN THE CITY OF WATSONVILLE, THE YWCA GIRLS RESERVE FIRST ESTABLISHED IN 1929 TO DEVELOP GIRLS' LEADERS AND PROMOTE COMMUNITY SERVICES. LATER IN 1952, THE YWCA OF WATSONVILLE WAS INCORPORATED AS A 501(C)(3) LOCAL CHAPTER TO SPECIFICALLY ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF THE PAJARO VALLEY. PART III LINE 4B: OUR NEWEST PROGRAM THE YOUNG WOMEN CHOOSING ACTION CURRICULUM GUIDED BY THE YWCA USA THEORY OF CHANGE IS FRAMED BY DEVELOPMENTALLY AND EDUCATIONAL THERAPEUTIC THEORIES TO EXPAND THE PARTICIPANTS UNDERSTANDING OF THEIR PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL RESPONSES AND TO ENABLE TEENS TO CULTIVATE AND PRACTICE THEIR PERSONAL WELL-BEING TO BUILD THEIR PERSONAL IDENTITY. THE YW-TEEN PROGRAM SERVES PRIMARILY MIDDLE SCHOOL AGE STUDENTS IN THE PAJARO VALLEY. ALSO, FOR THOSE STUDENTS MOVING INTO HIGH SCHOOL WE INVITE THEM TO CONTINUE IN A MENTORING PROGRAM AS YW-LEADERS. WHERE THEY CONTINUE TO PARTICIPATE WITH OTHER HIGH SCHOOL AND LOCAL COLLEGE STUDENTS TO SERVE AS ROLE MODELS OF YOUNGER GENERATIONS WHILE THEY MEET THEIR COMMUNITY SERVICE REQUIREMENTS. PART III LINE 4C: IN TERMS OF THE YWCA-FACILITY, WE WERE NOT ABLE TO MAKE IT AVAILABLE TO THE COMMUNITY DUE TO COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY RECCOMENDATIONS. THIS FACILITY IS PRIMARILY USED FOR MEETINGS, TRAININGS OR GATHERINGS.
