Briefly describe the organization’s mission: The objectives of the Florida Association of City Clerks are to discuss problems of mutual concern, to increase the efficiency of the city clerk's function, to cooperate with and assist all city administrators, to strive for greater educational standards for city clerks, and to gather and disseminate information to improve procedures and the efficiency of the administration of municipal government.

Two Professional Education Academies are sponsored each year - one in the fall and one in the summer - affording city clerks in Florida the opportunity to acquire the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk and Master Municipal Clerk. These Academies offer the attendees a chance to explore common forums and network. Topics this year for the Fall Academy included structure and function of local government in Florida, election basics, records management, best practices for clerks, building relationships, ethics in the workplace, effective business writing, local government budgeting in Florida and parliamentary procedure.Topics this year for the Summer Academy included strategies for achieving success, the three musts of self-care, problem-solving and decision-making for clerks, tips and tricks for successful presentations, having difficult conversations, business writing, managing workplace dynamics, Florida's history, and improving work and life morale. The Fall Academy had 160 attendees and the Summer Academy had 212 attendees.

Webinars - These provide clerks the opportunity to acquire two hours CMC/MMC credit per webinar. Five webinars were produced this fiscal year. Recorded webinars were also made available throughout the year.Topics covered this year included best practices for charter reviews, new council & candidate orientations, legal advertising challenges for municipal clerks, legislative changes & rules update regarding elections, and hiring and interviewing best practices. A total of 524 members participated in these webinars.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 6 The membership structure of the FACC is based on the job description of the individual member. Fees are then assessed based on the municipal population. Full members are Florida municipal1 clerks, deputy municipal clerks, assistant municipal clerks,and/or an individual who serves a municipality in the municipal clerk's office in an administrative capacity. These are the only voting members. Associate members are individuals serving a legislative government body in a capacity not previously defined. These individuals do not have the right to vote, hold office or obtain certification. Student members are those persons studying public administration or public affairs that intends to follow a career in local government. They have no voting rights.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a The board is elected by the membership through e-mail or regular mail ballots. The results are brought before the membership at the annual business meeting for ratification. Committees are formed and abolished by the Board of Directors. Appointments to the committees are made by the president. By-laws are amended, altered or rescinded by a 2/3 vote of those members present at the annual business meeting of the association.
