What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? UPSDA Inc primary exempt purpose is to conduct an annual sled dog race each February and to promote and educate the public about sled dog racing.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 Prizes and Awards: Given to the top finishers in the sled-dog race held in February. Due to adverse weather conditions the week of the race the annual UP200 - Midnight Run - Jack Pine 30 sled dog races were cancelled. The only race that was held was the Dryland Dash

Festival of the Sled Dog: This event was held in lieu of the annual UP200 - Midnight Run - Jack Pine 30 sled dog races which were cancelled due to a highly unusual rain storm in February. The objective is to promote interest in sled dog sports and educated the public about sled dog care, safety and activities. The event served Marquette and surrounding communities by offering sled dog demonstrations, short sled rides for children on a track with snow bought into downtown, information about sled dog racing and entertainment. By hosting this one-night event, UP Sled Dog Association was able to connect with spectators, volunteers and sponsors. Approximately 4,000 attended the festival. The long-term goal is to host the annual sled dog races. meeting similar objectives but also being able to host mushers who rely on safe trails to run their dog teams.
