VITALANT FOUNDATION NOW HAS FOUR DIRECTORS OF DEVELOPMENT TO SOLICIT FUNDS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. III. IN ADDITION TO THE REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH IN SECTION (F)(3)(I) AND (F)(3)(II), ALL PERTINENT FACTS AND CIRCUMSTANCES WILL BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION IN DETERMINING WHETHER AN ORGANIZATION IS "PUBLICLY SUPPORTED". AN ORGANIZATION IS NOT GENERALLY REQUIRED TO SATISFY ALL THE FACTORS IN PARAGRAPHS (F)(3)(III)(A) THROUGH (F)(3)(III)(E) BUT THE FACTORS ARE RELEVANT TO EACH CASE DEPENDING UPON THE NATURE AND PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION AND THE LENGTH OF TIME IT HAS BEEN IN EXISTENCE. A. PERCENTAGE OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT SCHEDULE A, PART II INDICATES THE VITALANT FOUNDATION PUBLIC SUPPORT PERCENTAGE IS 24.8% AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2022. ONE OF THE CONTRIBUTING FACTORS TO NOT MEETING THE PUBLIC SUPPORT PERCENTAGE OF 33.33% IS THE HIGH INVESTMENT EARNINGS IN THE FOUNDATION'S EARLIER YEARS. THE HIRING OF MORE FUNDRAISERS, EACH OF WHOM HAVING MORE THAN 20 YEARS OF FUNDRAISING EXPERIENCE LED TO THE DRAMATIC INCREASE IN SUPPORT IN 2022. THE PERCENTAGE IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO INCREASE AS THEY INCREASE THEIR VISIBILITY IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. B. SOURCES OF SUPPORT VITALANT FOUNDATION HAS SHOWN INCREASED SUPPORT FROM FOUNDATIONS, CORPORATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS SINCE STARTING TO FUNDRAISE IN 2017. THE FOUNDATION CONTINUES TO RECEIVE SUPPORT FROM KEY COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS IN PITTSBURGH (FOUNDATION'S HEADQUARTERS) INCLUDING RICHARD KING MELLON FOUNDATION, PNC, UPMC AND HIGHMARK FOUNDATION. OTHER SUPPORT FROM THE EXPANDED FOOTPRINT INCLUDES ARIZONA/PHOENIX PROFESSIONAL SPORT TEAMS, CALIFORNIA-BASED ORGANIZATIONS, META (FACEBOOK'S PARENT) AND NUMEROUS COMMUNITY FUNDS IN MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE. AT THE TIME OF THIS WRITING THERE ARE PROPOSALS OUTSTANDING IN EXCESS OF $2 MILLION. VITALANT FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO SECURE AND STEWARD CHARITABLE GIFTS TO SUPPORT VITALANT'S MISSION TO UNITE BLOOD AND BIOLOGICS DONORS, TALENT, AND INNOVATION TO SAVE AND IMPROVE LIVES. THIS SUPPORT COVERS THE ENTIRE BLOOD DONATION AND TRANSFUSION ECOSYSTEM, INCLUDING DONOR CENTERS, CAPITAL NEEDS, CLINICAL SERVICES AND RESEARCH. VITALANT FOUNDATION PROVIDES SUPPORT TO VITALANT, THE NATION'S LARGEST, INDEPENDENT BLOOD SERVICES PROVIDER EXCLUSIVELY FOCUSED ON PROVIDING LIFESAVING BLOOD AND COMPREHENSIVE TRANSFUSION MEDICINE SERVICES FOR APPROXIMATELY 900 HOSPITALS AND THEIR PATIENTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. EVERYDAY VITALANT NEEDS TO COLLECT 5,500 BLOOD AND PLATELET DONATIONS TO HELP SAVE LIVES IN THE 28 STATES IN WHICH IT OPERATES. VITALANT FOUNDATION'S IMPACT IS NATIONWIDE. C. REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNING BODY SINCE BEGINNING FUNDRAISING IN EARLY 2017, THE BOARD HAS AND CONTINUES TO DIVERSIFY TO MORE CLOSELY ALIGN WITH THE COMMUNITIES IT SERVES. IN 2022, THE BOARD AND ITS INVESTMENT COMMITTEE ARE 40% FEMALE AND COMPRISED OF COMMUNITY LEADERS FROM ILLINOIS, PENNSYLVANIA, NORTH CAROLINA, COLORADO, CALIFORNIA AND FLORIDA. INDUSTRIES REPRESENTED INCLUDE HEALTHCARE, BANKING, FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS, INSURANCE, SOLE PROPRIETORS, NOT-FOR-PROFIT EXECUTIVES AND RETIRED FORMER EXECUTIVES. FURTHER DIVERSIFICATION WILL OCCUR AS THE BOARD SIZE GROWS TO ITS MAXIMUM MEMBERSHIP OF 21 AS THE FUNDRAISING GEOGRAPHY EXPANDS AND CURRENT BOARD MEMBERS' TERMS EXPIRE. D. AVAILABILITY OF PUBLIC SERVICES AS NOTED EARLIER, VITALANT FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO SUPPORT VITALANT'S LIFESAVING MISSION WITH PHILANTHROPIC FUNDS. AS THE FOUNDATION NOW SOLICITS IN ALL 50 STATES AND WASHINGTON D.C., ITS REACH IS NATIONAL. E. MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATIONS - DOES NOT APPLY.
