    REFERENCE 0422866042 JANUARY 17, 2023 LTR 2697C. I AM ASKING FOR AN ABATEMENT OF THE PENALTY FOR LATE FILING. THE ORIGINAL RETURN WAS MAILED IN APRIL OF 2022. THE ORGINAZATION DID NOT KNOW THAT THE RETURN HAD TO BE ELECTRONICALLY FILED. THE RETURN WAS NOT RETURNED TO THEM UNTIL NOVEMBER OF 2022 WITH A LETTER STATING THAT THE RETURN HAD TO BE ELECTRONICALLY FILED NOT MAILED. THE ORGANIZATION TOOK THE RETURN TO A CPA TO HAVE IT ELECTRONICALLY FILED. HE ATTEMPTED TO ELECTRONICALLY FILE THE RETURN SEVERAL TIMES IN DECEMBER AND AGAIN IN JANUARY BEFORE HE REALIZED THAT HE WAS NO LONGER ALLOWED TO ELECTRONICALLY FILE. HE CONTACTED ME AT H&R BLOCK TO SEE IF I WOULD FILE THE RETURN. I TOLD HIM THAT I WOULD. AFTER RECEIVING THE RETURN AND PUTTING IT INTO OUR SYSTEM AND GETTING SEVERAL QUESTIONS ANSWERED, I AM NOW ABLE TO FILE THE RETURN.
