    Summary of Direct Charitable Activities
    List the foundation’s four largest direct charitable activities during the tax year. Include relevant statistical information such as the number of organizations and other beneficiaries served, conferences convened, research papers produced, etc. Expenses
    1 This year we sponsored an Art Extravaganza which brought artwork from all ages together over a period of three weeks in September for the public to view and vote on favorites. This was a wonderful opportunity to showcase local seasoned as well as up-and-coming artists in a large enough area that was covid-friendly. Expenses included hanging and displaying artwork creating ribbons and certificates as well as allocating prize money and advertising. It was great to see all the fabulous talent that was born right here in our small town! 1,500
    2 Music by the pond in the Park: This ongoing summer music series was decidedly moved to our village Curtis Park for added family friendliness and safety. This event has been going on for years and always features local favorites each month with a new addition or two each summer! This free event is wonderful for our community members who live right in town and for those especially who do not get out of the village very often for such events. We have plenty of local talent and are happy to provide a venue rain or shine for all to enjoy fellowship dancing and really great music! 3,000
    3 This year on account of covid we replaced our typically two-day weekend holiday arts and crafts sale with an extended pop-up event. Covid placed many restrictions on many annual events and were were fortunate to have access to such a large industrial space that made it easy to control numbers and spread out over the 15000 square footage of the Edmore Marketplace. Vendors had many days to set booths up and with our volunteers we set up a central check-out station so that vendors did not need to be present while the public was shopping. It was a huge success probably largely due to so many other stores and events being shut down or cancelled where we learned a lot and were able to adapt each new day as challenges arose. All in all this was a very successful endeavor. Because this was completely volunteer driven and the space was offered for free we had minimal expenses that mostly had to do with processing transactions and providing gift bags along with some advertising. 500
    4 Another project we trialed was a pop-up gift shop alongside the craft show that was specifically geared towards showcasing and selling original artwork. After a few weeks we had quite a following and drew customers from as far as Grand Rapids and Midland which goes to show that word of mouth and quality artwork go a long ways. Expenses were similar to that of the main Arts & Crafts area. 500
