THE FORMER TREASURER OF THE JOHN BUTLER MULLIKEN FOUNDATION, INC., FREDERIC KATZ, PASSED AWAY ON NOVEMBER 3, 2019. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FILES AND RECORDS FOR THE FOUNDATION WERE LOCATED AMONG MR. KATZ'S PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL BELONGINGS. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS DISCOVERY WAS MADE IN THE SPRING OF 2020 JUST AS THE WORLD WENT INTO ISOLATION AND LOCKDOWN DUE TO THE OUTBREAK OF THE COVID VIRUS. BECAUSE OF THE LOCKDOWNS AND OTHER RESTRICTIONS THAT CAME INTO BEING FOLLOWING THE PANDEMIC, IT TOOK AWHILE TO FIND A NEW TREASURER AND SIGN THE DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO ACTIVATE THE BUSINESS ACTIVITIES OF THE JOHN BUTLER MULLIKEN FOUNDATION. ADDITIONALLY, THE ACCOUNTING FIRM PREPARING THE RETURN, DUE TO NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN, EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH THEIR EFIN, WHICH FURTHER COMPOUNDED THE ELECTRONIC FILING ISSUES.THE JOHN BUTLER MULLIKEN FOUNDATION IS A PRIVATE FOUNDATION THAT FUNDS YOUNG DOCTORS IN THEIR PURSUIT OF MEDICAL RESEARCH WITH REGARDS TO PEDIATRIC CRANIOFACIAL MALFORMATIONS.
