What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? THE AMERICAN LEGION AND THE NASSAU COUNTY AMERICAN LEGION ORGANIZATIONS WERE FOUNDED IN 1919. THEY WORK STEADFASTLY PROMOTING PATRIOTISM AND NATIONAL SECURITY WHILE SUPPORTING YOUTH AND ADVOCATING FOR VETERANS AND ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY PERSONNEL AND FAMILIES. WE ARE THE LARGEST AND MOST INFLUENTIAL VETERAN'S SERVICE ORGANIZATION, WE ARE FOCUSTED ON THE ORGANIZATION'S FOUR PILLARS: VETERANS AFFAIRS AND REHABILITATION, NATIONAL DEFENSE. AMERICANISM AND CHILDREN AND YOUTH.
