| Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b | The Board of Directors first meets with the Independent Auditor to review the audited financial statements. Once the audited financial statements have been approved the accountant assists the Board in the preparation of the annual IRS 990 informational returns. A copy of the proposed 990 is provided to the entire Board of Directors, the Chief instructs each Member and Officer to review the statements, after the review period, the Chief asks the governing body for their formal approval of the tax return before he signs and submits the returns. |
