Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 In 2022-2023 MCCE Action supported efforts through a ballot initiative to ban foreign corporate contributions to candidates and to require more transparency for campaign contributions to candidates for municipal offices in Maine's larger cities. MCCE Action also worked to implement a Clean Elections (public funding) program for municipal candidates in the City of Portland. Since 2021 MCCE Action has been working to amend the municipal charter in the City of Portland to provide public campaign financing to candidates for municipal offices. Form 990-EZ, Part IV- Additional InformationThe Executive Director Salary was paid via a common paymaster, a related organization (Maine Citizens for Clean Elections, MCCE, a 501c3 organization). MCCE Action reimbursed 100% of MCCE Action's portion of ED salaries, taxes,and fringe benefits to Maine Citizens for Clean Elections, unless any portion was forgiven (which it wasn't this year). In 2022-2023, MCCE Action ED Salary was 1% of total ED Salary. Given that the salaries were initially paid out of MCCE, no W2 was paid out of MCCE Action.
