Form 990-EZ, Part II, Line 24 This amount indicated the NJ Cemetery Board mandated required amount in the Maintenance & Preservation Fund (the Fund) during the calendar year. This is a Trust Fund maintained by each cemetery in NJ that falls under the purview of the NJ Cemetery Board. The amount; either using a percentage or itemized dollar amount, for all activities including sale of graves, burials of bodies, and construction of foundations for monuments. The finanial institution managages the fund. The principal in the account cannot be used by the cemetery for any purpose without the express written consent of the NJ Cemetery Board. However, interest or dividends accrued on the principal may be used by the cemetery for qualified purposes. Any fees associated with the maintenance of this account may be deducted from accrued interest or dividends.
