What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is the programming and governing body of the twenty five fraternities at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. Every man who joins one of these groups is a member of the IFC. The chapter president attends IFC meetings and serves as the chapter's voting delegate. These individuals are the communication link between IFC and their chapters. The Interfraternity Council meets every other week. The leadership is composed of seven executive officers who are elected by the IFC voting delegates. The National Interfraternity Council (NIC) has been serving the men's college fraternity community in Canada and the United States since 1906. The NIC advocates the needs of fraternities through the enrichment of the fraternity experience, advancement and growth of the fraternity community, and enhancement of the educational mission of the host institution.
