| Form 990, Part I, Line 1 - Mission and Significant Activities | Easterseals Northern California (ESNorCal) is creating a more equitable world so people with developmental disabilities can choose their path. We do this by reimagining how care and support can be better connected to fill gaps in human services across an individual's lifespan. For nearly 100 years, Easterseals Northern California (ESNorCal) has provided services to thousands of families in service of creating a more equitable world where people with disabilities can choose their own path. We do this by reimagining how care and support can be better connected to fill gaps in human services across an individual's lifespan. Our experienced clinical team performs comprehensive assessments and delivers tailored services that help our clients live, learn, work and play to their fullest potential. In 2022, we served about 30% more client families than in 2021 and compared to 2020 we almost doubled the number of families we served. We had a positive gross operating margin and even with significant investment losses, maintained an overall positive net operating margin. Our Early Intervention (EI) program provides routines-based and family-guided intervention to children ages 0-5 who are diagnosed with developmental delays or who may be considered at risk for delay. EI services are provided in the children's natural environment, including in the children's home or in the community. Our Autism program provides Parent-Led Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which teaches parents and caregivers how to provide ABA techniques anywhere, anytime when it works best for the family. Group and individual ABA programs are also provided that focus on improving skills in communication and social interactions, self-reliance, ability to focus and follow directions, and decreasing problem behaviors such as self-injury or outbursts. Our Adult program, Kaleidoscope, is a community-based adult day program that offers specific programming for adults with a disability including independent living skills, employment readiness, and community inclusion. Participants work with coaches to help them pursue their interests, define their goals and live as independently as possible. In 2022, we relauched our Respite program to provide families much needed relaxation and revitalization. The program provides quality respite care for clients and worry-free time for parents, knowing that their children are safe and well cared for. Attendees enjoy hours of fun-filled care, complete with physical and educational activities, arts and crafts, sensory-friendly toys, dinner, and games. ESNorCal is also a member of a family of companies including the Catalight Foundation, Catalight Care Services (provider network), Easterseals Hawaii and Xolv Technology Solutions. Across the five companies, there are over 700 employees working together to responsibly disrupt break down barriers and biases to create a more inclusive world - one that reflects and celebrates the unique differences of everyone. We do this by providing access to innovative individualized care services, clinical research and advocacy powered by intelligent technologies. |
