What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH THE CORPORATION IS ORGANIZED ARE TO PROMOTE THE INTERESTS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE CORPORATION AND THE CITIZENS OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA IN THE TEN COUNTIES COMPRISING THE VENUE OF THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE EASTERN DISTRICT OF PENNSYLVANIA INCLUDING SPECIFICALLY THE EDUCATION OF MEMBERS AND THE FURNISHING OF LEGAL SERVICES IN THE FIELD OF BANKRUPTCY TO CITIZENS RESIDING IN THE EASTERN DISTRICT WHO ARE UNABLE TO AFFORD SUCH SERVICES. THE CORPORATION SHALL ALSO BE ABLE TO MAKE GRANTS TO ENTITIES HAVING NON-PROFIT CORPORATION STATUS (AS DEFINED IN SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1986, AS AMENDED).

28 ANNUAL FORUM - THE LARGEST PROGRAM OVER THE LAST YEAR (AND EVERY YEAR) WAS THE 33RD ANNUAL FORUM. HELD ANNUALLY, THE EDPABC MEMBERS - AS WELL AS JUDGES FROM OUR DISTRICT AND NEIGHBORING DISTRICTS - COME TOGETHER FOR A TWO-DAY CONFERENCE CONSISTING OF CLE CREDIT SESSIONS FOR BOTH CONSUMER AND COMMERCIAL BANKRUPTCY ATTORNEYS AS WELL AS DINING AND NETWORKING. THE FORUM RETURNED TO ITS TRADITIONAL IN-PERSON FORMAT THIS YEAR. ALTHOUGH BEFORE THE PENSEMIC THE FORUM WAS NORMALLY HELD IN JANUARY, STARTING IN 2022 AND CONTINUING IN 2023 THE FORUM HAS SHIFTED TO THE END OF MARCH.
