The former CFO retired December 2022 and the new CFO was under the impression that the Form 990 was due 6/30/2023 and when she went to do the extension on 6/27/23 she realized it was already late and could not file the extension. She had never done a Form 990 and began working to file as timely as possible. With all of the other extensive new duties, now is as soon as she could complete the Form 990. Department of Corrections Credit Union has always filed timely or filed an extension so I would ask that the circumstances meet the reasonable cause and look at the CUs history to abate any penalties. We appreciate your understanding in this situation of a new employee who files the Form 990.
