Statement Note 1	Frederick County Building Industry Association Inc2022 Form 990Attachment regarding extensionThe following is offered as an explanation of why the return was not extended; the original due date was May 15, 2023 however no extension was filed.On March 10, 2023, the Executive Officer inquired of the former CPA to see if he would be filing the 2022 returns.On March 20, 2023, the CPA replied and say he was interested in preparing the 2022 return. This made sense since he had been preparing it for the past ten years.On March 20, 2023, the Executive Officer replied "is there anything you need from me as we approach the April 15 deadline?"\On March 21, 2023, the CPA responded that the Form 990 was due May 15 with an automatic extension available untile Nov 15.On June 20, 2023, the CPA emailed the Executive Officer to ask who was preparing the return. The EO called the CPA and he indicated that he had health problems, and he had dropped the ball and not filed the extension. After speaking with the board of directors, the Executive Officer reached out to the current CPA to start the process of filing the return as soon as possible.
