SRDVC ADVOCATES FOR SURVIVORS IN THE COURT SYSTEM AND IN OTHER AREAS, INCLUDING IN HEALTHCARE, HOUSING AND FOOD ACCESS, AND DEVELOPING TRAUMA-INFORMED SCHOOL PROGRAMS. IN 2022, WE PROVIDED ADVOCACY SUPPORT FOR 55 SURVIVORS AND FAMILIES. SRDVC ALSO LEADS A QUARTERLY DV IMPACT PANEL FOR MEN AND WOMEN INVOLVED IN DV PERPETRATOR TREATMENT. THIS HAS HAD 120 ATTENDEES THIS YEAR. SRDVC ADDITIONALLY HOLDS DV EDUCATION AND HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP CLASSES AT THE ISABELLA HOUSE (A RESIDENTIAL ADDICTIONS TREATMENT CENTER FOR EXPECTING MOTHERS AND MOTHERS) EACH WEEK WHICH HAS REACHED 75 INDIVIDUALS THIS YEAR. AS SRDVC HAS WORKED TO IMPLEMENT THE GOALS OF THE STRATEGIC PLAN, A FOCUS ON SPOKANE COUNTY'S HOT SPOTS HAS INFORMED SCHOOL PROGRAMMING, PARTNERSHIPS WITH GANG VIOLENCE PROGRAMS, AND AN IMPACTFUL COMMUNITY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN (I.E., BILLBOARDS, BUS BOARDS, FLYERS, TV, AND RADIO ADS). OVER THE PAST 18 MONTHS, SRDVC HAS WORKED TO ENHANCE SERVICE ACCESS FOR INDIGENOUS PEOPLE IN THE REGION, AND WE CREATED A VICTIM RESOURCE OUTREACH CAMPAIGN AND GUIDE FOR TRIBAL VICTIM SERVICES DISPERSING 2,000 RESOURCE FLIERS. WE HAVE TEAMED UP WITH AN INDIGENOUS MEDIA GROUP TO CREATE A DOCUMENTARY AROUND THE MURDERED & MISSING INDIGENOUS WOMEN/PEOPLE MOVEMENT, SHOWCASING EASTERN WASHINGTON FAMILIES AFFECTED BY DV AND LOCAL COMMUNITY NEEDS AND WERE SHOWCASED AT NORTHERN QUEST CASINO AND RESORT WITH OUR RESOURCES AND MEDIA, AN EVENT WHICH HAD APPROXIMATELY 200 PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE, ALONG WITH VISUAL CAMPAIGNS RUNNING THE ENTIRE MONTH OF MAY SERVING THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. SRDVC IS A COMMUNITY-BASED EFFORT THAT BEGAN NEARLY 30 YEARS AGO TO BRING MULTIDISCIPLINARY STAKEHOLDERS TOGETHER TO ADDRESS DV AND FAMILY VIOLENCE. SINCE THEN, SRDVC HAS BEEN COLLABORATIVELY MEETING NEEDS OF VICTIMS AND SURVIVORS, LEVERAGING FUNDING, VOLUNTEERS, AND PARTNERS. SRDVC IS RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT THE COMMUNITY'S DV CHALLENGES THROUGH THE END THE VIOLENCE CAMPAIGN. IN 2022 WE BEGAN PRODUCTION OF OUR END THE VIOLENCE TOOLKIT FOR BUSINESSES. THE TRAINING PROVIDES INFORMATION TO HELP THE EMPLOYER NOT ONLY RECOGNIZE ABUSE BUT TO RESPOND AND OFFER REFERRALS AS WELL. WE HAVE ALREADY PROVIDED THIS TRAINING TO THE SALISH SCHOOL, FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, GONZAGA SECURITY SERVICES, THE COMMUNITY SCHOOL, REARDON SCHOOLS, SPOKANE TRIBAL ENTERPRISES, AND THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR HUMAN SERVICES REACHING OVER 300 EMPLOYEES. THE AMOUNT OF BUSINESS REACHED WILL ONLY TREND UPWARD WITH THE COMING LAUNCH OF A TRAINING PORTAL THROUGH OUR WEBSITE WHICH IS CURRENTLY IN PRODUCTION. ADDITIONALLY, WE HAVE ENGAGED 125 BUSINESSES WITH INFORMATION ABOUT THE UPCOMING LAUNCH AND HAVE CONSEQUENTLY DEVELOPED A LIST OF BUSINESSES AND ENTITIES WHO ARE READY TO DO TRAINING AS SOON AS THE TOOLKIT IS RELEASED IN JANUARY 2023. SRDVC IS ALSO THE DRIVER OF THE HANDLE WITH CARE INITIATIVE, MANAGING A CRITICAL COMMUNICATION PROCESS BETWEEN THE SPOKANE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND SPOKANE PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO IDENTIFY CHILDREN WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED OR WITNESSED SOMETHING TRAUMATIC AND OFFER SUPPORT; THE HANDLE WITH CARE MODEL EXPANDED THE CITY'S INFORMAL DV RESPONSE AND NOW RESPONDS TO ALL TRAUMATIC CALLS (I.E., DRUG RAIDS, OVERDOSES, AND DOG ATTACKS). AFTER PILOTING THE MODEL IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SPOKANE REGIONAL HEALTH DISTRICT, SPS, AND SPD, SRDVC GREW HWC TO INCLUDE 13 PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICTS WHICH SERVED 70,519 STUDENTS. SRDVC STAFF SUPPORTED THE SUCCESSFUL EXPANSION OF HWC TO THE YAKIMA SCHOOL DISTRICT, WHERE THEY SERVED 15,858 STUDENTS AMOUNTING TO 1,817 REFERRALS IN THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR. WE ARE CURRENTLY LEADING EXPANSION EFFORTS WITH THREE OTHER AREAS IN WASHINGTON STATE AND SUPPORTING AN ADDITIONAL THREE COMMUNITIES IN THEIR EXPLORATION. SRDVC ACTIVELY WORKED TO CREATE A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COURT FOR FELONY MATTERS THROUGH GRANT FUNDING FROM THE OFFICE OF VIOLENCE ON WOMEN. WE MET WITH MDT MEMBERS INCLUDING: JUDGES, COURT PERSONNEL, ADVOCATES, WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS, PROSECUTORS, PUBLIC DEFENDERS, AND PERPETRATOR TREATMENT PROVIDERS. SRDVC ALSO WORKS WITH YOUTH WHO HAVE BEEN IMPACTED BY VIOLENCE THROUGH THE SAFE COMMUNITIES PARTNERSHIP. SRDVC IS CONSIDERED AN EXPERT ON DV AND COMMUNITY-BASED VIOLENCE SURVIVOR ADVOCACY AND PREVENTION.
