What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The primary exempt purpose of the Seabrook Island Natural History Group (SINHG) is to disseminate natural history and cultural history information about Charleston and the Low Country to its members through field trips and lectures. In addition, the Group provides the opportunity for members to informally share their experiences through special events. The group encourages education in their Johns Island community by providing grants to organizations focusing on education, the environment and local history.

28 The Seabrook Island Natural History Group, is slowly returning to offering the normal 90 or more excursions to its members. The trips are chosen and organized to enhance members knowledge and experiences in the environmental, historical and cultural heritage of the area. The Organization also encourages education in the Johns Island community by funding local scholarship, environmental projects and other activities aligned with the Organization's purpose.
