28 VFW Post 3617 provided free veteran and active military assistance with VA claims & services, emergency financial assistance, patriotism and character development to primary and secondary school students, continuing education scholarships to high school and Junior College students, honor guard details to veteran funeral services, flag color guard details to civic functions, and US flag donations to private individuals, public facilities and commercial businesses. Additionally, VFW Post 3617 is responsible for maintaining the Veteran's Memorial in Douglas County, WA.

Explanation:
The late filing is due to several factors. The QuickBooks and Excel programs for 2021 were lost when we had a catastrophic failure of our main computer used to manage our financial program. Additionally, the individual (IT Manager) that managed these programs and created the spreadsheets had passed away the year before so we didn't have anyone that could fix our situation. We are a small organization with only a handful of volunteers that can even use a computer. It has been a difficult time for the last couple years to keep our organization going and providing the services our community needs. To finish our tax filing for 2021, we had to go back to bank statements to rebuild our financial history manually. We apologize for being late, but it has been a difficult couple years since the COVID pandemic and loosing key members that we depended on.
