Glen Cove Water Association is a 22-member neighbors association with an all-volunteer board. All three trustees left the board Aug 2021 and the senior trustee had died in February 2021 from cancer. The new trustees were not made aware of the requirement for filing a 990-EZ return. The notices from the IRS making the Association aware that we were late for 2021 and 2022 went to the widower's address; she brought the notice to us October 16th. Having three trustees leave within the same term was totally unexpected. Normally only one trustee leaves the board each year. We recognize now that we are responsible to fill annually. We have now filed for 2021 and for 2022. We have put safeguards in place to assure timely filing in future.
