THROUGHOUT 2022, CFPE HOSTED 63 DIFFERENT TRAINING SESSIONS FOR PONTIAC ENTREPRENEURS. THESE TRAINING SESSIONS RESULTED IN 142 HOURS OF WORKSHOPS, WITH A TOTAL ATTENDANCE OF 401 ACROSS ALL WORKSHOPS. IN ADDITION TO WORKSHOPS, CFPE AND ITS PARTNERS ALSO HELD INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING SESSIONS FOR PONTIAC ENTREPRENEURS. IN TOTAL, 67 ENTREPRENEURS RECEIVED INDIVIDUALIZED SUPPORT FOR A WIDE VARIETY OF SMALL BUSINESS NEEDS. OF THIS GROUP, 27 RECEIVED SUPPORT THAT WAS DIRECTLY RELATED TO ACCESS TO CAPITAL, IN THE FORM OF GRANT AND LOAN APPLICATION SUPPORT. CFPE WAS ALSO INSTRUMENTAL IN SUPPORTING WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESSES IN PONTIAC, AS FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS ACCOUNTED FOR OVER HALF OF ALL COUNSELING CLIENTS, WITH 37 WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESSES RECEIVING COUNSELING. CFPE ALSO SERVED THE CRITICAL ROLE OF A CONVENER IN THE PONTIAC SMALL BUSINESS SUPPORT ECOSYSTEM THROUGH ITS MONTHLY SMALL BUSINESS ROUNDTABLE. THESE MONTHLY MEETINGS PROVIDED A SPACE FOR LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TO INFORM EACH OTHER OF EVENTS TAKING PLACE ACROSS SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN AND RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO THEIR SMALL BUSINESS CLIENTS. 20 LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS, WITH A WIDE VARIETY OF FOCUS AREAS, ATTENDED THE SMALL BUSINESS ROUNDTABLE THROUGHOUT 2022. CFPE, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PONTIAC FUNDERS COLLABORATIVE, SUPPORTED A MARKET ANALYSIS OF FINANCING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PONTIAC SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS. THIS RESEARCH PROCESS INCLUDED ELEVEN INTERVIEWS WITH TRADITIONAL LENDERS, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS, AND SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS SCORE. THESE INTERVIEWS PROVIDED A WINDOW INTO SOME OF THE ISSUES PLAGUING LOAN AND GRANT APPLICANTS. USING THE INFORMATION GATHERED FROM THESE INTERVIEWS, AND OTHER METHODS OF ANALYSIS, A MULTI-YEAR PLAN WAS DEVELOPED TO ADDRESS THE CAPITAL NEEDS OF PONTIAC ENTREPRENEURS. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE PCF'S ROLE AS A LEADER WITH DATA ANALYSIS AND SUPPORT FROM THE CDFI SOLUTIONS TO SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS CAPITAL ACCESS IN PONTIAC, MI REPORT. IN DECEMBER 2022, PARTICIPATING PONTIAC NONPROFITS WERE GIVEN THE TOOLS AND RESOURCES NECESSARY TO ENGAGE COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN CROWDFUNDING VIA THE PONTIAC IMPACT CHALLENGE. AS A RESULT OF THE IMPACT CHALLENGE, 68,555 WAS RAISED FROM 246 SUPPORTERS. INCLUDING THE AWARDS FROM PONTIAC COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, 61,243 WAS INVESTED IN PONTIAC NONPROFITS AS A RESULT OF THE IMPACT CHALLENGE. IN 2022, PCF EXPANDED ITS TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM, M1 MOBILITY, PROVIDING 2,500 RIDES TO PONTIAC RESIDENTS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PARTICIPATING NON- PROFITS, THE CITY OF PONTIAC, AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS IN NEED OF DIRECT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES. PCF, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CHIEF FINANCIAL CREDIT UNION, AWARDED ONE SCHOLARSHIP TO A PONTIAC RESIDENT PARTICIPATE IN LEADERSHIP OAKLAND'S 2022 CORNERSTONE PROGRAM. AS A RESULT OF THE INCREASED NEED FOR FOOD ASSISTANCE SERVICES ACROSS OAKLAND COUNTY, PONTIAC COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OAKLAND COUNTY, ESTABLISHED THE HEALTHY FOOD ACCESS GRANT PROGRAM IN 2022. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDED ONE-TIME OPERATIONAL AND PROGRAMMATIC GRANTS TO ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDING CRITICAL FOOD ASSISTANCE SERVICES TO RESIDENTS AND COMMUNITIES ACROSS OAKLAND COUNTY. OAKLAND COUNTY PROVIDED 300,000 TO QUALIFIED ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH A COMPETITIVE GRANT AWARD PROCESS ADMINISTERED BY THE PONTIAC COMMUNITY FOUNDATION. PREVENTION PONTIAC IS A SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION AND WELLNESS COALITION THAT SERVES PONTIAC RESIDENTS AND IS PART OF THE ALLIANCE OF COALITIONS FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES, A BROADER NETWORK THAT SERVES ALL OF OAKLAND COUNTY, AND IS HOUSED AT PCF.
