Explanation:
I am the Treasurer for the above-referenced organization and the responsibility for filing form 990-EZ for 2021 and 2022 is entirely mine. Both of these filings are delinquent and I am endeavoring to rectify this by submitting both returns now. The reason that these have not been submitted in a timely manner is due to an extreme period of personal tragedy that caused me to fall behind. My older sister was a passenger in a car which was hit by an 18 wheeler truck. She was very badly physically and mentally injured and had to be hospitalized and later institutionalized. My mother is 96 years old and no longer able to live alone, my younger sister lives with her and is her caregiver. When our older sister was in the accident, it was necessary for me to share my mother's care so that my younger sister could travel from Pennsylvania to Texas to insure that proper care be given to our sister. This was necessary on several occasions. We also had two family deaths which necessitated unexpected travel for arrangements and funerals. These deaths were interspersed with the death of several very close personal friends - six in all - who passed away in close proximity to each other. My husband and I (both in our 70s) had COVID and there have been some residual effects. It has taken many months to finally be able to dig myself out from under the backlog and prepare these required returns. I am in good faith trying to make up for the delay and respectfully ask that you consider these unusual circumstances as to the delay.
