What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Americans for Battlefield Preservation was established to advance, foster, and promote Battlefield Preservation through education, advocacy, and research for the benefit of the general public.

28 The mission of Americans for Battlefield Preservation (AFBP), which is a 501(c)(4) organization, is to promote awareness of our country's remaining hallowed battlegrounds and related historic sites. America's preserved battlefields serve as outdoor classrooms that educate the public about the American Revolution, the Civil War, and other conflicts that transformed our history and define us as a nation. It is a strictly non-partisan organization that seeks to build support for battlefield preservation among all lawmakers on all levels of government. The organization's primary focus is to educate lawmakers on the federal, state, and local levels about issues and legislation related to battlefield preservation.
