Dear IRS Officer Thank you for your note LTR2697C. This note is intended to provide reasonable cause for submitting fiscal year 2020 and fiscal year 2021 Form 990 PF in printed form received by the IRS on 29 July 2022. Catholic Health Initiatives for Uganda Inc CHIU had its tax-exempt status reinstated on 18 May 2022. Up until that date I had to submit Form 1023 and amended Form 990 PFs in print form. I mistakenly assumed that I had to continue to do so because prior to the reinstatement of CHIU's tax-exempt status I was unable to submit returns electronically. I have re-entered all of the tax information into the approved electronic Form 990 PF template and will be able to comply with the electronic requirements going forward.
