What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Association of employees--primary task is to represent faculty at Bryant University for purposes of collective bargaining, member welfare, and improving conditions of work. Other services or benefits to members or employees, such as disseminating information regarding benefits of membership with the parent organization, American Federation of Teachers at the national level, and state chapter, Rhode Island Federation of Teachers and Health Professionals.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 We ensured that our local chapter maintained its membership in good standing with the parent organization. We engaged with Department of Labor to ensure compliance while maximizing the benefits of our labor laws for our workers. We represented faculty labor to university administration for purposes of renegotiating our Collective Bargaining Agreement for the next three years, with significant changes to salaries, benefits, and contractual working committees. We represented our chapter members welfare to the university administration during a year when the university is recovering from the COVID pandemic, including declining student retention but larger entering freshman classes.
