Briefly describe the organization’s mission: TRU is a democratic membership organization of working and poor people building power to change society for the good of humanity and of the planet. We fight for every human being to have access to safe, affordable and accessible public transit. We interpret our mission broadly to include the many ways public policy and decision-making influences the quality of life of our members and their mobility, including access to shelter and stable housing, public space, good wages and working conditions, etc.

	Stay Housed Stay Healthy Coalition: TRU continued working with and helping to lead this coalition of over 50 organizations, organizing with renters and championing renter interests. In 2022, we succeeded in winning stronger renter protection policies in five King County jurisdictions: Kenmore, Redmond, Kirkland, Issaquah, and Burien. These policies included longer notice of significant rent increases, capping late fees, capping move-in fees at one month's rent and allowing payment in installments, allowing tenants on fixed incomes to change their rent due date, Just Cause eviction protections, and banning requirement of a social security number on rental applications. We mobilized renters and allies to meet with elected officials to share their stories, testify at council meetings, send emails, and advocate for stronger protections.

	Camp Outreach Project: TRU members continued a 100% volunteer-run project providing direct assistance to people living unsheltered during the COVID-19 pandemic, when a severe shortage of shelter and affordable housing has left many people without a stable home. Volunteers cooked weekly meals to serve at several homeless encampments where they built relationships and assisted the residents. They also purchased basic supplies like water, clothing, batteries and fuel, especially during the winter months. TRU members fundraised from individual supporters specifically for this project, and we also received a grant from King County. This project served around 60 homeless individuals every week throughout the year, and over 25 TRU members and volunteers participated in running the program.

	TRU built and led a coalition called Raise the Wage Tukwila, running a citizen's initiative to raise the minimum wage to match the neighboring city of SeaTac. This began with outreach to workers at Southcenter Mall, Tukwila residents, community groups, and local businesses. Through conversations with stakeholders we crafted a policy, wrote legislation, and gathered petition signatures of Tukwila voters to qualify for the ballot. We ran a get-out-the-vote campaign and won with over 82% of the vote on the November ballot.

	TRU supported a successful campaign opposing the proposed siting of an Amazon distribution center in the Mt. Baker neighborhood of South Seattle. After outreach to neighbors and a public rally, Amazon announced that it was no longer planning to site any warehouses in South Seattle.

	Solidarity Budget & Move All Seattle Sustainably Coalitions: TRU participated in coalitions focused on the City of Seattle's budget process, activating members and residents to push for their priorities. We focused on securing funds for multimodal transportation projects in underserved communities, including sidewalks, bike lanes and transit improvements; shifting funds away from harmful policing models to community-supported approaches to public safety and investing in Black and brown communities; and expanding investments in affordable housing, equitable development and homeless shelters and services.

Form 990, Part III, Line 2	In 2022, TRU launched a ballot initiative campaign to raise the minimum wage in the South King County city of Tukwila. This was a new body of work that we had laid foundations for in 2021, but the campaign itself took place wholly in 2022. We also contributed to a campaign to oppose the proposed siting of an Amazon distribution center in South Seattle in 2022.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6	TRU is a membership organization. We have sliding-scale dues.
