Internal Revenue Service Tax Exempt and Government Entities June 5, 2023 Sun City Men's Golf Association Inc. P.O. Box 2457 Sun City, AZ 85372-2457 EIN 86-0206651 In May 2022, I filed a 2021 990EZ for the organization and it was rejected due to a revocation of the organization's tax exemption on May 15, 2021. I was not aware of that revocation. I immediately filed new paperwork to recover the tax exemption and received the reinstatement letter dated 08/31/2022. In May 2023, as I readied to file the 2022 990EZ form, I tried to refile the 2021 990EZ and it was still rejected. I called on May 11th and was told the organization was exempt, but the IRS system wasn't properly updated. Ms Clements, IRS # 1000270370, suggested I wait about a month for that update to take place. I called again today, 5 June 2023, and was told that the exempt status was now properly updated in the system and that I could go ahead and refile 2021 and also file 2022 990EZ forms. As soon as I realized that the tax-exempt status had been revoked, I refiled for status, and it was approved, and the organization was reinstated retroactive to May 15, 2021. When I tried to file my 2022 990EZ, I found that the IRS system was not updated properly and that is why my 2022 filing has been delayed. Ms Stevenson, IRS #1004046206, suggested I request removal of any penalties for late filing as it was the IRS system that caused the problem. Please consider removing any penalties due to this issue.
