Briefly describe the organization’s mission: BPA's primary mission is to communicate with Federal policy makers on behalf of the renewable Biomass Energy Industry about a broad array of Federal Issues. In additional to seeking what is called "rate Equity" with other renewables under the production tax credits, BPA seeks further extensions of the section 45 benefits. BPA is also actively engaged in the advocacy of a Federal renewable energy standard.

	BPA is actively engaged in the advocacy of a federal renewable energy standard. BPA, like other renewable trade associations, communicates with congress and the administration concerning a cap and trade program that recognizes the carbon benefits of biopower. BPA also conducts outreach activities to members and potential members in the Biomass energy industry, maintains a website with information about the organization and the industry and educates the public about renewable biomass power through publications, presentations, website materials and press releases.
