Briefly describe the organization’s mission: To provide a means to educate the association's members in the proper conduct of the constitutional office of tax assessor-collectors of the state of Texas, to be aware of and participate in the legislative process, and to promote standards to unify actions for the benefit of taxpayers.

	We provide programs for training elected county tax assessor-collectors of Texas and their staff on subjects pertinent to the operations of their office and the discharge of the official duties. This year we held a limited virtual conference. Our annual conference was canceled due to COVID restrictions.

	Educational courses and classes held throughout the state are intended to increase the knowledge of Texas property tax and motor vehicle transportation and sales tax laws, codes, and rules. Also, programs promote awareness of important legislative changes and updates that affect the daily operation of county tax assessor-collector offices across the state. Most of the courses provided are also required to earn certifications in the profession.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 4	The governing body and membership voted to approve a change in the bylaws that provided for the separation of duties of the office Secretary/Treasurer which was held by a single individual on the executive board. The positions are now separated into two individual positions, Secretary and Treasurer. The positions of Vice-President Internal and ice-President-External were combined into one Vice President position. This maintained a total of 10 board positions. This change was voted on and approved by our membership in 2021 and took effect June 1, 2022.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6	The association has 3 dues-paying membership levels. Regular members, associate members, and affiliate members. Regular members are the only members that have voting rights in the association.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a	The governing body is elected by regular members at a business meeting held during our annual conference. Associate and affiliate members do not vote.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7b	Regular members of the association can vote at our annual business meeting to elect our governing body. They also vote to approve any changes to the constitution and by-laws of the association.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 10b	The various regional chapters only conduct meetings and training for their area. There are no financial transactions or monetary contributions conducted between the regional chapters and the association. The regional chapters do not engage in financial activities.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b	The Form 990 is shared electronically via email with the governing body to allow them time to review. At a scheduled board meeting, the governing body will then review and vote to approve or amend the Form 990 that was presented.
