Explanation:

Our tax exempt status was reinstated in June of 2021 but not updated in IRS records causing our electronic filing of 2021 return to be rejected costing us $100 for the filing fee. I filed on paper with an explanation of why but didnt receive a response until March of 2023. The agent I spoke to updated the record but said to wait 6-8 weeks to file 2021 again to make sure everything had populated thru IRS systems. I did but I filed paper returns for 2021 and 2022 not wanting to waste the filing fee again. The paper returns were received but rejected because of the e-filing mandate.I spoke to an agent who assured me the tax exempt status was now correct and e-filing would work.
