| Other | Part III, Line 4a - Public Policy - The Organization values the opinions of members on all issues related to agriculture. Each fall members are asked for input on the topics the organization should be working on to support agriculture. Members are then given an opportunity to view all issues statewide and indicate which issues they see as a priority. The membership is asked for their opinions on issues that are important to them in a March survey developed and provided by the Organization. The Board of Directors uses this information to come up with policy for the Organization. The Organization advises members of Town Hall meetings in our area and encourages our members to attend. Policy was reported on at the Organization's Annual Meeting on September 6, 2022. |
| Other | Part III, Line 4b - Ag in the Classroom - The Organization supports higher education by offering scholarships to Farm Bureau members children that are further their education beyond high school. The Organization provides books and resources that focus on agriculture and its value to consumers to local libraires. The Organization also provides resources and support to local ag youth groups such as FFA and 4-H, impacting approximately 100-150 local youth. The groups use the support for enhancing their programming. The Organization also supports a local partnership that focuses on Ag in The Classroom efforts in the area. Hundreds of students and teachers are provided ag lessons, activities, and resources to enhance their understanding of the value and importance of agriculture in their everyday lives. |
| Other | Part III, Line 4c - Outreach - The Organization is a major supporter of the county fair and through sponsorships and support of fair activities, thousands of county, and out of county residents are exposed to the Organization's brand and messaging each year. The Board of Directors annually donates to the county food pantries as well as a local toy drive to support those in need. The Organization also purchases print advertising for National FFA Week. During National Ag week, the Organization purchases radio ads and trivia questions are asked twice a day on a local radio station. The Organization also works with other local media outlets to promote agriculture through advertising and messaging. |
