The 12/31/2022 Form 990 was filed late because it was presumed to be extended but it was discovered not to have been. The preparer engaged, Gregory Csikos, CPA, had initiated the extension of the Form 990 due date by filing Form 8868 by the initial due date (May 15, 2023). However, Mr. Csikos discovered as part of preparing the Form 990 in the fall of 2023, that while the Form 8868 was created and queued for transmission through his tax software, the transmission did not occur. The Form 8868 was still queued in fall 2023. Nonetheless, the Organization did file Form 990 before the extended due date (November 15, 2023). We ask that you abate any late filing penalty for reasonable casue.
