Explanation:
We believed the local's tax-exempt status was revoked under EIN 31-6083461 and we applied for reinstatement (Form 1024) on 02-02-2023. On 06-07-23, after receipt of Letter 1312, we discovered that the EIN did not match the local's name, and we were asked to provide evidence that the EIN belonged to us. We did not have such evidence and, upon advice from the IRS, we applied for a new EIN on 06-08-23 and EIN 93-1765777 was assigned to us. We are still awaiting a decision on our application for reinstatement of our tax-exempt status.
