What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The American Goat Federation promotes and facilitates the development of all segments of the goat industry including diary, meat and fiber by encouraging sound public policy and education.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 AGF has involved in four programs receiving assistance from USDA Aphis. Safe Handling tests bulk handlers which are purchased or build and used in two auction barns that handle large volumes of sheep and goats to determine effectiveness and ease of use. Secure Goat will provide an outline and tools for goat producers to voluntarily prepare before an outbreak occurs as well as how to manage, quarantine, and provide logistic procedures in event of actual outbreak. RFID allows for continued evaluation of suitable RFID tags for use in goats in accordance with Animal Disease Traceability. Tabs are tested for ease of application, retention and ease of wand readers. Scrapie provides subgrants to associations and educates producers and future ag industry particpants about Scrapie, Qfever, and about program requirements
