CALLS WERE MADE IN 2021 AND AGAIN IN 2022 TO NO AVAIL FOR ASSISTANCE IN THE PROPER CODING/PRESENTATION ON THE FORM 990-PF. AFTER NUMEROUS CALLS IN FEBRUARY 2023 FOR ASSISTANCE WITH THE 2021 RETURN, ASSISTANCE WAS AVAILABLE AND THE LADY EXPLAINED THAT THE BOX HAD TO BE LEFT OPEN FOR THE 1.39% EXCISE TAX TO COMPUTE. SHE REFERRED THE PREPARER TO A DATA BASE FOR REVIEW OF THE INFORMATION AND LOCATED THE PROBLEM THAT THE EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION WAS NOT EXEMPT FROM THE EXCISE TAX. DUE TO OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES, THE SECRETARY/TREASURER WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR CONSULTATION FOR A FEW DAYS DUE TO A CONCUSSION HE SUFFERED. DISCUSSION WAS MADE ON FEBRUARY 21, 2023 AND THE OKAY TO PROCEED WITH THE ELECTRONIC FILING WAS RECEIVED BY THE PREPARER. REQUEST FOR ABATEMENT OF PENALTY FOR LATE FILING AND LATE PENALTY IS HEREBY MADE.
