It holds and administers funds necessary to maintain the building and property in which the Masonic Organizations meet. The Masonic Organizations are shareholders of the corporation. At the beginning of the year, the shareholders donate to the corporation funds estimated to covers maintenance expenses for the year. Maintenance includes, but is not limited to, utilities, general maintenance, and repairs. At the end of the year all excess funds are returned to the shareholders.

Explanation:

In 2020 when the IRS first required organizations to file electronically, the corporation attempted to file both by paper and electronically. The IRS rejected the electronic file because it showed in its records that the corporation was a 501(c)25 organization, but our IRS determination letter shows we are a 501(c)2 organization. The corporation again attempted to file electronically in 2021 with the same result. The dispute was not resolved until March of 2023 when the IRS changed the corporation's status to a 501(c)2 organization in its records. The corporation then filed its 2022 return and when that was accepted, it filed this 2021 return.
